  • The Royal Canadian Legion, Amherstburg Branch 157, Colour Party will March in the Colours.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

 

We will begin by acknowledging that the land on which we gather is the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations (comprising the Ojibway, the Odawa, and the Potawatomie Peoples), and of the Huron-Wendat and Wyandot Peoples. We recognize the land as an expression of gratitude to those whose traditional territory we reside on, and a way of honouring the Indigenous people who have been living and thriving on the land since time immemorial. We value the significant historical and contemporary contributions of local and regional First Nations and all of the Original Peoples of Turtle Island.

  • The Chief Administrative Officer will address Council.

INTRODUCTION OF COUNCIL MEMBERS

 

  • The Deputy Chief Administrative Officer will read a short biography of each Member of Council.

DECLARATION OF OFFICE

 

  • The Chief Administrative Officer, as Clerk, will introduce and administer the Oaths of Office for the following:

    • Deputy Mayor Chris Gibb
    • Councillor Molly Allaire
    • Councillor Peter Courtney
    • Councillor Linden Crain
    • Councillor Donald McArthur
    • Councillor Diane Pouget

    The Chief Administrative Officer, as Clerk, will introduce and administer the Oath of Office for the Mayor of the Town of Amherstburg.

INAUGURAL ADDRESS

 

  • His Worship, Michael Prue, will deliver the Inaugural Address.

RETRIEVAL OF COLOURS

 

  • The Royal Canadian Legion Amherstburg Branch 157, Colour Party will retrieve the Colours.
